On the western side, the volume features a slight cantilever to detach itself from the immediate context and leave the existing topography as undisturbed as possible. To the east, a wide external walkway serves each dwelling; the shifts in the building’s envelope create landings that preserve intimacy between the units. Regarding the internal layout, circulation spaces are kept to a minimum to provide continuous living areas free of rigid boundaries. Dual-aspect openings along the East-West axis allow residents to enjoy the sun’s path throughout the day. Technical and utility rooms are concentrated within the eastern half of the dwellings.
